Quizes just for fun

I saw these quiz on my friend's blog and thought, hmm... this looks interesting, why not give it a try? These are my results:

You are The Hierophant

Divine Wisdom. Manifestation. Explanation. Teaching.

All things relating to education, patience, help from superiors. The Hierophant is often considered to be a Guardian Angel.

The Hierophant's purpose is to bring the spiritual down to Earth. Where the High Priestess between her two pillars deals with realms beyond this Earth, the Hierophant (or High Priest) deals with worldly problems. He is well suited to do this because he strives to create harmony and peace in the midst of a crisis. The Hierophant's only problem is that he can be stubborn and hidebound. At his best, he is wise and soothing, at his worst, he is an unbending traditionalist.

what dragon are you?

white dragon
white dragon
White dragons are small and intelligent. They live in frigid, icy climates — usually arctic areas, but sometimes very high mountains. They travel alone, and have very good memories. They prefer the solitude of snowy plains and caves, far away from the warming rays of the sun.

A white dragon can be identified by his sharp, intelligent-looking eyes and intense expression. His scales resemble fur, or even feathers, in places. His wide feet and sharp claws help him to walk atop snowbanks. An aura of coldness seems to eminate from the white dragon.

Living in frosty climes, white dragons prefer their food to be suitably chilled. If their victims have not frozen to death already, white dragons will often pack them away in the snow until they are properly frozen.

If you ever encounter a white dragon, be on your guard— he is swift and alert. Your best bet is to scare or intimidate him, as white dragons are sometimes known to be cowardly. He breathes a chilling frost.

You aren't sure where you came from. Perhaps your sire did an embrace and run. Or maybe your sire was an outcast himself. Either way, your powers are unique and really don't belong to any clan...or maybe a little from each. Because you of these circumstances, you aren't really sure where you belong. Taiko no Tatsujin (not) DS

Ooo... yea! The 3 week Studio Project 3's finally over!!! Bring on the holidays!!!

To celebrate the end of this project today, 2 of my friends and I went for a movie and hung off a bit. We watched Rush Hour 3 at Vivocity. After the movie, we went to play pool at the K-Pool at Jurong Point (was that shopping center called Jurong Point or was it called something else? I forgot XP). Haha, after not playing pool for over a year, I, surprisingly, won both of my matches due to luck XD. In my 1st match, I was lucky that my opponent had hit my targets in for me, otherwise, I'm not sure I would have won (its not definite that I would lose though...) In my other match, I pretty much being thrashed, however, my opponent unfortunately, had the white ball go in the hole with the 8 ball XP...

After the pool session, we went to the arcade where I played Taiko no Tatsujin with my friend. We played 3 rounds. It was pretty fun, after all, the DS version of this game is currently quite 'in' in my course. Though, unfortunately, I had a cut on my hand afterwards which probably was due to me hitting the drums to hard and many times while playing the game XP

OMG!!!

What a turn of events. Guess what happened in the news today? Odex lost the case to obtain the IP addresses of Pacific net users. Pacific net users rejoice! Downloaders, you're free. You won't be caught by the scums of Odex and be fined. In the light of such news, those that were fined, I wonder what'll happen to you. Singnet users, unfortunately for you, the appeal deadline has already passed, so, unfortunate as it seems, they can't do anything about it, Starhub however, is still able to file an appeal, thus, Starhub users, let's see what happens from here...

Concluding, Pacific net users, you guys are really lucky. The lawyer Pacific net hired actually won the case, allowing you downloaders to remain unknown and escape the fine...

Singnet users, you have it worst. Unable to appeal as the appeal deadline has passed, there probably won't be any change as to what happened to you.

Starhub users, if starhub appeals and win, I wonder what'll happen... If they lose... I wonder what'll happen as well... XP

Pacific net users, no worries, at least for now of being caught... However, who knows what other tricks/tactics Odex will come up with, so, it's still better to be cautious...

Games and consoles

Hmm... I haven't been posting here in a while as I'm currently in the midst of my 3week Studio Project. Its been a week since it started and I'm kept pretty busy, resulting in my lack of time to post here X_X

Today, however, I'm taking time off to post about something interesting I saw in the papers and 8-Days.

Consoles

This article from 8-Days talks about the 3 consoles and their problems. As mentioned in the article, the PS3 overheats to a worrying temperature and some relate it to a hotdog grill, the XBox360's "red ring of death" and the Wii's wrist strap isn't strong enough, leading to broken TVs and black-eyes when the controllers fly after the strap snaps XP

Out of the 3, the Wii seems to have the least problems. I mean, would you rather hardware failure, piping hot consoles or flying controllers if you had to choose 1 outta the 3? Though, who knows, maybe the PS3 and the Wii might have problems like the XBox360 1 year down the road...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following articles are game review from the Digital Life in The Straits Times today.

Taiko no Tatsujin DS
Brain Age 2
Deal Or No Deal

Taiko no Tatsujin DS, a 7 outta 10 review from the papers. Some of my friends and I are into this game recently. Quite a fun game, especially when playing with other people. Although level 4, which is unlocked after completing a certain number of songs on level 3, is really, really tough. I've only completed 2-3 songs on that level, and they're the easier songs...

Brain Age 2. Surprisingly, this game got a 8.5. The tests look pretty interesting in the review and I'm interested to try this game out.

And finally, Deal Or No Deal. A measly 2 outta 10. After watching some episodes of this show on television, I thought that this game was interesting enough to play once in a while. However, the reviewer begs to differ. I think I'll try out the game before I disagree with the Digital Life's game reviewer...

Some other game reviews by me >P

'Phoenix Wright'. A game where you're a defence lawer defending your clients by playing detective at times to find evidence and finding loopholes in the witness's testimony to clear your client's name. Its quite an interesting game where one needs to be observant to win. This series currently has 2 games out on the market(though finding them is a different story) with the 3rd set to be released in Japanese later this month on the 23rd and the English version 2 months from now. Fairly interesting, I know some of friends who quite like the game ^_^

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

P.S. I'll write some more reviews after my DS runs outta power. So til then plz wait patiently ;)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Haha XD, my DS finally ran out of power. Thus, its time for more game reviews XD

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next up, 'Days of Memories'. A fighting turned dating King of Fighter(KOF) game. Playing as a character in this game, you date the girls from KOF. That's basically the whole game in a nutshell XP An okay game to waste time on. Only fans of KOF need to try. Others won't be remotely interested in the game. In fact even fans of KOF may find this game boring, but hey, as I said, just to waste time XP

Next, 'Elite Beat Agents'(EBA). A rhythm game. Following the beats of songs, you tap the points of the screen to win. A great multiplayer game that can keep people occupied for an hour or more as long as everyone is approximately equally skilled. Even if everyone isn't equal, this game can be fun still. The Japanese versions are pretty good too, 'Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan' and 'Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii - Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2'.

'Mario Kart DS'. Mario and co. in carts racing around throwing items at each other. Pretty fun, I know some people who only have this game. They play this game very, VERY often until their skills were really out there XD Playing with them killed my interest in the game +_+

'Negima!'. Fans of the popular Mahou Sensei Negima and/or Magister Negi Magi Negima?! should give this a try. A strategy based game, though I NEVER strategise when I play XP. It has 2 games, 'Chou Mahora Taisen Chuu - Checkiin Zenin Shuugou! Yappari Onsen Kichaimashitaa' and 'Chou Mahora Taisen Kattoiin, Keiyaku Shikkou Dechai masuu'. I don't have the slightest idea of what differences these 2 games have as I've only tried 1 of them.

'New Super Mario Bros'. Mario. What more need I say?

'Taiko no Tatsujin DS - Touch de Dokodon'. Kinda similar to EBA in terms of following beats to play. Playing a Chinese drum, you follow the beats and hit the drum to win.

Last by not least, 'Trauma Center - Under the Knife'. Surgeon and wannabe-surgeons, this is for you. Non-wannabes can play too though. You start out as a rookie surgeon treating normal stuff like tumors and such. However! The game isn't gonna let you fulfill your dream of doing surgery! *Evil laugh* From around the 2nd chapter, you encounter GUILT (I forgot what it stands for XP), a new kind of bio-terrorism which is infecting people. Discovering you have the 'Healing Touch', you are determined to cure all people infected with this virus. GUILT is hell on a table. Some types are easy to deal with (though I couldn't at first and used cheats to win XD) while others can send you, and not your patient lying there, straight to hell by its difficulty X_X

This are some of the games I'm played and feel like doing a review on them. Maybe I'll do more in the future, maybe I won't. But if anyone wants their review here or something like that, feel feel to e-mail me at shinji_ikari1sg@yahoo.com.sg. I try to reply as soon as possible to you :) Thank you fo reading my reviews :D

Wave Battle! Ride On!!

Ahh... I'm reaching the final part of the story for Megaman Star Force - Leo and just in time too. Starting tomorrow, I'll have a project stretching for 3 weeks, keeping me busy till then. Though there'll definitely be time to play games myself and with everyone else, its better not to as it'll disrupt the working mood for the rest of the day if i or anyone else starts playing. Knowing the people in my group, once they start playing, they probably, only PROBABLY, won't stop til much later if they do stop for the day...

Darn it... Someone posted a FAQ for Megaman Star Force already on GameFAQS >.< though its only up to where the story ends, its really annoying that someone else has a FAQ up there already +_+ Well, I wouldn't have the time nor the mood to really do a FAQ in the upcoming 3 weeks T_T

EM wave change! Geo Stelar, On The Air!

Woo-hoo! Just got the Leo upgrade! Looks pretty cool though Pegasus and Dragon looks better. The abilities look decent though getting the card needed to transform might be hard to get... I think I'm halfway through the game XD I'm thinking of making a guide for the game after I complete it once. When I'm doing the game again on Pegasus or Dragon version, I think I'll try to make a guide for it. Though it probably wouldn't be all that great, I just wanna try my hand on making guides for once at least XD

AS for JUS, I playing with my friend, Isaac, today. He had pretty powerful/interesting decks to fight. Using a support that he said would ring people out 90% off the time once his combo started, I had a surprisingly easy time either stopping the combo or getting back into the stage X_X Also, I realised that a support I recently wanted to try of to stop/break my friend, Hao Yi's, combo, is actually quite good in normal situations too. The support is 2k Toujou Aya from Ichigo 100%. Not only does she seals the opponent's usage of supports and stop opponents' combos when she bangs into them, she drains the opponent's SP(special gauge) by 1 or 2. I heard that it depletes the opponent's gauge by 2, however, after using it on Isaac, he told me after that it only drains 1 gauge. Hmm.. I wonder...

Megaman Star Force/ Ryuusei no Rockman

Some pics of the game here, here and here

Man, have i been waiting for this game since they announced the jap version last year. The game has 3 versions, Dragon(Thunder), Pegasus(Ice) and Leo(Fire). After looking at a few pictures (the ones above), I was totally put off by the Leo version... The Pegasus and the Dragon looks so much better than the Leo. What a waste of my time. I had already started playing the Leo version of the game for quite a few hours and had defeated the first 2/3 bosses already. T_T I guess I'll complete Leo before doing the other 2 games...

Back to games

After some consideration on how to counter my friend's deck(the one that kept spamming 3k Seiya), I decided/realised that it was pretty much impossible to counter it after it comes out. Impossible.

On the other hand, its much simpler to stop it from being used. ;) That being said, I went and tried many supports that sealed the opponent's support usage. After trying like about every support character, I found a support that I think will is good to use. I'm not gonna say which it is now though(but I promise I'll tell in a few days time ;) ).

Now that I think of it, there might be another way to seal the opponent's support usage that might be more effective or easier to pull off/use. I'll go and test my idea first before saying anything here though so please be a little patient and wait for my results k? ;)

Singapore's Birthday!!!!!

Today's Singapore's birthday and the National Day Parade(NDP) was pretty awesome. I especially loved the march-in and the march-pass =) Being in a uniform group myself in the past, I enjoy a good parade =)

Man, I so wanna be in the parade too. Its really cool to be in one of the marching contigents. I wanna participate in the parade at least once in my life-time XD

The fireworks were great as well... Totally nice!

On a side note, I didn't exactly like this year's National Song and the rest of the NDP. Only a few other segments were somewhat interesting or nice.

I know I said this would be a blog about games but I can comment about other stuff too right? My next post, which I'm gonna do right after this, will be on games ok? ;)

Wednesday, August 08, 2007

Hmm...

After that last post, I've decided what I'll make my blog into. I'll make my blog into one that discusses about JUS(Jump Ultimate Stars) and maybe, just MAYBE, other NDS(Nintendo DS) games :)

Continuing from my last post, I said that I would talk about JUS tachniques, strategies and such. Thus, this will be my 1st post about them.

My fights in the morning, were, chaotic, to say the least. With punches flying everywhere, the winner would be the one at the very back of each round of spamming punches XP

My 7koma Don Patch deck has decent punch spamming abilities, thus, when everyone else came in with ultra punch spamming characters, I was kinda over-whelmed. I wasn't last most of the time, but I wasn't near 1st either XD

The 1-1 match with my friend after dinner was interesting to say the least. Only after that series of matches did I realise how annoyingly irritating Seiya's 3koma support is. Although I use Seiya's 3k support too, I don't really use it offensively and as many times as my friend. Using it together with his 6k Power Varient Allen Walker, it was really annoying. Using whenever I start my combos and to increase damage while doing 6k Allen's Up X special, Clown Belt, it really was a pain in the neck. I managed to scrape some wins though, mostly through Sudden Death when he didn't have any specials XP

I'm currently thinking of ways to counter 3k Seiya's support and I'm open to suggestions. The problem is that not only does Seiya jump up to hit downwards with his multi-punches, he appears really fast and has a decent amount of life. Thus, it's tough to get rid of him before he even does a single punch downwards.

Jumping in school

I had a test on one of my modules called Mobile Games Programming, today. The module was obviously about programming games for mobile phones(cell phones, hand phones, you get the picture). I had planned to go to school early to study. However, certain people also came early and I couldn't resist playing Jump Ultimate Stars with them. I'll talk about JUS, tatics and such later.

Using the deck I recently formed(Don Patch 7koma single battle koma deck), I punched everyone out of my way to victory. The result? Everyone used characters with supers that consisted of continuous punching. Quite the mayhem it was :P Obviously, I didn't do much studying after that. Fortunately before the test, there wasn't enough test papers, so the lecturer gave us some important last minute revision which really helped me out a lot :) The test was much simpler than what I had expected :)

After the test, I had an assignment milestone to do. Unfortunately, my group and I were tempted into playing Counter-Strike 1.6. Luckily, we managed to finish the milestone and show it to our supervisor.

After having dinner with my friend, we played JUS. His deck was surprising annoying. Not expecting such tactics from him, I won less than half the time... XP

My 1st post

1st post in my PERSONAL blog ^_^

I sudddenly felt like starting my blog again, thus, I started it again on this impulse ^_^

Friday was a pain due to an assignment milestone plus the fact that no one felt like doing the assignment. Result was a rubbish TDD(technical design document) that we showed our supervior for the project.

That aside, I was overjoyed that I had received a present for my birthday tml. That's the first present I received from anyone outside of my family and relatives T_T I'm really happy abt it though in the process of doing the assignment was enough to put me in a bad mood even til now...

1 hour 15 mins to tml ^_^

p.s. hmm... I'm thinking of removing to bravenet.com. I'll check that site out tml ^_^ time to sleep now
