99 - DB Kai?!?!

So yeah, DragonBall's got itself a remake. Calling itself DB Kai, the first episode is out.

The quality is actually pretty nice compared to the previous DB to me, though I think that they've really got to change the voice actors... Their images and their voices don't match at all...

The animations pretty good and the video looks good. The story starts at the same point as the original animation, Raditz.

So far, this series looks pretty good, but I hope it won't drag like its predecessor did...

95

Yep, I know I'm late for this week's post. Couldn't help it though, what with finishing FYPJ, doing a poster for FUSION and watching animes... XP

So, recently I'm watching quite a few animes. For example, Chrome Shelled Regios, Kannagi (just started), Akikan and Kurokami. :)

So yeah, pretty busy, so I'll just post some screenshots of the anime I'm watching, finish this post and go back to watching my animes. :D

94 - Valentine's

Zzz... Like most of you reading this, I had an uneventful Valentine's... Went out with no one, etc, etc... Only went out with my family to buy some electrical appliances all day yesterday.

Zzz...

But what a shocker, the next episode of Toradora! Unbelivable! A definite must watch! Plus, a 'new' ending only for the next episode. However, I won't spoil for those waiting who haven't watch til after next Thursday when Okto airs ;)

P.S. I just noticed that I miss numbered one of my previous entries, thus this is post number 94 and not the previous one =P

94 - This week's TD

Hehe.. Sorry for the wait. Though I said in my previous post that I would talking about this week's episode 2 days ago, I kinda didn't feel like doing anything and so, didn't post til today.. XP

Hmm, so this week, in Toradora! episode 17, contains the new second opening song for the show. Normally it's weird to have a new opening song at episode 17, but if you watched the story so far, you'll understand why the new opening starts at episode 17. Episode 17 starts a new page in the story (somewhat), with Kitamura being rejected in the previous episode and his classmates are trying to cheer him up by matching up. Surprisingly, the class seems to notice finally, that Taiga likes Kitamura. Well, mix and mess ups aside, Kushieda seems to be avoiding Takasu and that's a problem.

Well, that's episode 17 in a nutshell. Let's wait for episode 18 to air this coming Thursday. Well, some fansubs have already subbed episode 18 though, so if you can't wait, you can go and watch it already.

93 - Weekly Toradora!

Ahh.. I'm back for your weekly coverage of Okto's Toradora! Last week I was sick, so I didn't feel like exposing Okto's mistake.

Yup, so now I'll say it out. In last week's Toradora, or episode 16, there was a little story left after the ending song, however, Okto probably didn't know about it and missed showing it... -.-'

So, yeah, Okto disappointed last week... But I still think that their releases are decent.

Ok, expect the next Toradora review (this week, episode 17), though I say review, I'm really just expressing my views of the quality of Okto's version against online versions, around Friday, after Okto airs it k? ;)

89 - Toradora!

Wow... This week's episode really takes the cake. What a cliffhanger. Such emotions. I've never wanted to watch the next episode so badly. Wow... O.O

Also, I wanted to share this link. SC. Really really cool. Someone posted this link on Hamachi and out of curiosity I went and took a look. So, here I am, sharing this with everyone who comes here.

85 - Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo

And Enemy of the State.

Yesterday, I watched TwKS and today, Enemy of the State (this ain't an anime in case you're wondering why you've never heard of it).

TwKS tells us of the possible dangers of playing with time. From changing the events that are undesirable to you like screwing up in Home Economics, to matters of pride like catching the ball while playing baseball with friends, the main character, Makoto Konno, uses the time travel powers she obtains after an accident in school.

Not realising the consequences of playing around with time, she uses her new-found powers for her own benefits, which result in someone else getting hurt instead. As she changes history of the few days told in the show, the results gets worse and worse, up to the point where 2 of her friends suffer a train accident in her stead. That's when she realises the severity of her playing around with time.

How this story ends, you'll have to find out for yourself if you didn't watch it yesterday ;)
Although this is a remake of the original story, with new characters and such, it still is a good animation.

Enemy of the State.
This is another movie in which Will Smith acts in. I kinda find the movies he act in to be pretty good movies, like The Pursuit of Happiness (though I didn't watch it...) and that zombie movie (>.< I forgot the title...).

Having missed the first 15 minutes of the show due to certain circumstances, I missed why the NSA (National Security Agency [of USA]) was after. Fortunately, the movie explains it only later. He somehow obtains a video, of a high-ranking officer of the NSA, killing a Congress member, and said guy find out and sends the NSA after him.
He runs for his life, and with the help of an ex-NSA agent, pieces together why they are after him. However, he accidentally damages the video allow the way and the only proof of the act is lost. Having no other route left, he stages a risky play to get the criminal to confess to his crime.

Packed with action and wits, this is one good movie. If you missed it, too bad for you. You missed one cool movie..

84 - Okto & AFA'08

Looks like last week was an exception as this week's translation and video quality are decent again. Though, I still think the opening's a little fast forwarded.

Today's the first day of the 2 day Anime Festival Asia 2008. Having attended it, I'm going to talk about what I did today. Missing the pre-registration by a day or a few hours (I tried to register on the evening of the last day and somehow it said that the registration was closed...), I had to take a line that opened later than that for those who pre-registered. So, I went in a bit later than those who pre-registered (about 1/2 hour).

Going in, I went around looking at all the stalls set up as unlike SOME people, I didn't eye anything in there beforehand. So I went around looking at everything. Immediately upon entering, is a gundam stall. It sold gundam model kits, from the latest 00 to even the Three Kingdom gundams. To the left, was a big display of gundam models. There were some pretty cool models there and I think I took a few pictures of them, but my handphone ran outta battery earlier today and is charging right now, once it finish recharging, I'll check and post any and every picture I took today.

Pass that, were some stalls about Animax and some other stuff that I don't exactly remember. Next was a figurine display section. It took up a decent amount of space and it had some interesting figurines up on display.

Near there was a booth set up by Chuang Yi (any Singaporean who don't know them, seriously, get a life). I saw 2 series that interested me. I was following one while the other was one that I had interest in for a while now. The one I was following I had the latest 2 volumes but not the first 3, so that bundle was exactly right for me. ^_^
Though admittedly, I hesitated n buying them (they totally $20 for the 6. Yes, a bargain I know but I still hesitated...). I got them later though, so no disappointment there. ^_^

Then there were figurine selling stalls. I don't exactly know what the shop's were (those interested in knowing can probably ask hy, he'll probably know) but they had some stock of figurines there. Some were bargains while some were at normal prices. I took an interest in one of the figurines on sale there and hesitated only a bit before shelling out $50 ($49 but hey what's the difference?) for it before it disappeared. After that, I continued to check out the place.

There was this small stall in the middle of the place that sold anime posters and a few other collectables. I wanted to check out the stuff there but there was a frigging loooonnnnggggg line there... >_<

Not wanting to line up that long to just see the stall, I moved on. There weren't much left after that. Another anime advertisement booth which advertised some animes (Toradora, Skip Beat and Casshern Sins and Shakugan no Shana to name a few). Surprisingly, there was a doujinshi booth too near there! They had some pretty nice Nanoha doujins there. I didn't get them though as I didn't want to blow so much money.. Regrets around, but I think I would have regretted it more if I blew my savings on them.

There was a stage there, but I didn't pay much attention to it though. I was concentrating more on the arcade there. *eye sparkles*

There, was *drum roll* Melty Blood Actress Again. *loud clapping* Yayyy!! In total, I played it trice losing in all 3, but I put up a good fight too as in all of them, I won 2 out of the 3 rounds before losing.

Around 3, I was feeling tired and went home, ending my trip there.

Yes, my handphone camera sucks and rotating the picture didn't exactly help either...

82 - Zzz...

Patiently each week, I eagerly await ToraDora. However, tonight's episode is really really disappointing. The frigging show was flickering every 2s or so!!! And I think the opening song was fast-forwarded by a bit... The translation for this week's episode also seem a little off. For the past 5 episodes, the translations of ToraDora were decent. Compared to the one I follow on the net (Aero subs), it faired pretty well in my opinion. However, this most recent episode's a disappointment... It's like rushed or something... This anime isn't even same week telecasted. In fact, this episode was aired in Japan last Wednesday, so not having enough time to translate properly shouldn't be an excuse.
Really, they should be careful about their shows, stuff like this could damage their reputation...

78 - Mahou Shoujo

With the magical girl genre, it's all about the transformation scenes and flashy magic spells and plot advancements!!!

In Nanatsuiro Drops, plot advancements are present, though there isn't much flashy magic spells and totally no transformation scenes. But being a plot-based person, as long as the plot's good, it's a good anime to me (though the art, characters has to be at the very least decent).

Edit:
Ok, transformation is present, but only in the middle of the story and only shown o.n.c.e. Before that, she was wearing an outfit her mother sent (her mother was a magical girl in the past, before marrying her father and quit being a magical girl, thus the outfit). Somewhat acceptable number of spells in the show.

On another note, Neo Angelic Abyss ~Second Age~, which ended last week was a really annoyance. Showing Angelique wielding a sword and fighting in the opening song, it makes viewers expect her to kick enemy asses, but no. After learning some swordplay from a ship captain on a ship, the only time she uses her sword is during the last episode and for only 1. attack. >.<
The attack pierces the last boss and her proceeds to purify him... Z_Z That's it, I don't want to say anymore about this...

On other stuff, today's the debut of Toradora on Central!!! Yay!!! After reading the 12 chapters on Onemanga, I'm really looking forward to the show today. ^_^ Tomorrow is Skip Beat. Looking forward to that as well, though not as much as Toradora ^_^

77 - 21k hits?!?!

Well, that's not my intention in this post (yes, I'm misleading you). This post today is about an anime series I've just finish watching. However, as some of you might feel, I don't write good reviews...

Ok, back to the topic (or not, seeing as the topic is misleading...). The anime series is 'NHK ni yokoso!', or 'Welcome to the NHK!'. I won't going into a review of it (that's not my intention). My only reason for this post is to post my feelings of this particular anime.

'NHK ni yokoso!' is a 24 episode anime. It slowly develops the characters and the story/plot. It has 2 main events, the offline meeting event and the Misaki event (which is by the way, the last event to occur). The second event is a really touching story. It makes watching this anime totally worth it. Although it is somewhat awkward half way in the last episode, it is pretty good overall. Just because of this, this anime ranks pretty high in my opinion. :)

52 - What a waste of time...

Clannad 23 done. Next, Clannad After Story... =.=|

School Days OVA - Magical Heart Kokoro Chan =.=|
For all you pedos out there. Otherwise, it's just a waste of time... Fanservice here and there... Not much else... As you can tell from the title, this story somewhat focuses on Kotonoha's little sister, Kokoro. Thus, for the people who voted for Kokoro in my SD character poll some time back. This'll to you.

To-Love-Ru. A new series coming up. Premiering on the 24th this month. A manga turned anime, similar to Rosario+Vampire, except that the manga of Rosario+Vampire had a more serious story.

Summer Days, which is related to School Days. Its main character is Setsuna. Unfortunately, some pictures of the game which I found on the net is on my desktop. So, you'll have to wait til I use my desktop again to see them.

Melty Blood Act Cadenza, I'll be trying this game soon...
Edit: Got the game. Cool fighting game. Playing over the internet is possible. So, anyone game? The thing is 1+gb though. If you're interested but lazy to download, contact me ;) In case, you're willing to bt it, here's the link. Come on guys! Play this game!

Note: this is the second post today.

Da.Gay-Men & Negima?(WTT)!

As those who watch Central at 11pm on Fridays, I seriously wonder, how they get the subs for it. As you would know if you watch D.Grey-Man on Fridays on Central, the episode is show on the same week as Japan, thus, it left me wondering, where did they get the subs? Or did they do the subs themselves? If they did, it's seriously fast. They're faster than ANY groups out there most of the time.

Surprisingly, Negima?! episode 21 is up... =.=|
As with the first 20 episodes, this episode is done by Mahora fansubs (after saying they won't continue it due to it being licensed...)
For those who keep up with Negima?! and remember, Mahora said that they would NOT continue the series after it was licensed some 1 year? ago I think. At that time, they were at episode 19. Then, a few months later, up came episode 20...

And now, ages later, they present, episode 21...

Heck... Negima?! or Negima Neo(it's manga name) has 25 volumes? O_O The orginal series hasn't hit volume 22 yet!!!

Extra: since Negima?! 21's out, I decided to put up some Negima stuff I found.

Oh, and the picture at the top's supposedly future Negi and Nodoka

Ended or is about to

Quite a few animes have ended recently. Rental Magica, H2O, etc... And there a few more nearing their end, like Clannad which has an extra episode after episode 22, Bamboo Blade which has 2 more episodes (currently 24), Hayate no Gotoku! which has 4 (currently 48) (the last one's airing this week if I'm not mistaken. The fansubs haven't translated the pass 3 episodes) and Shakugan no Shana Second with 1 more episode (24).

H2O finale

Ah... H2O ~Footprints in the Sand~ has ended. Though the ending's kinda weird to me, it's the most satisfying end of an anime series I've seen in a while. Whew, one character gets resurrected at the end X_X

However, I'm not gonna review the last episode. That's cos most of you guys here don't watch this anime, so even if I do a review on it, most, if not all of you, won't understand it / won't be interested in it. So, no reviews on the last episode (i.e. episode 12) of H2O. (and no, it doesn't stand for water...)

DO NOT WATCH IF YOU DON'T WANNA BE MENTALLY SCARRED

Here's a video I found while browsing a fansubs website.

I'M FRIGGING WARNING ALL WHO READ THIS. DO NOT WATCH IF YOU'RE WEAK HEARTED / DON'T WANNA BE MENTALLY SCARRED / ETC, ETC...

Oh, and don't miss my earlier post.

Clannad 17

Whew... though I'm still not feeling well at the moment, I bring to you... *Drum roll* Clannad episode 17's review! *clapclapclap* XD

=.= seeing that this review's image intensive, the images are in links and not displayed to prevent people from lagging. See I'm so nice XP

Episode 17
After challenging and winning the basketball club in a bid to move the choir club to let Koumura-sensei to be their advisor(ep16), the members of the choir club decided to ask Koumura-sensei to be the advisor of both clubs.

Unfortunately, the idea was rejected as sharing advisors isn't allowed. Quote: "Club activity when the advisor is not present is prohibited, so it'll be like one day on, one day off".

Nagisa faints and the opening song comes on... XP (Man, at 17 episodes the opening hasn't changed?)

Nagisa's father, Akio, thanks Tomoya for saving his daughter twice. Doesn't he look really young. But he says that he haven't done anything...

The next morning...

Quote: "I cannot allow my friend to be constantly tardy. No opportunately to inform you yesterday, so I came unannounced. Did I surprise you?". No duh... Waking up and seeing a girl over him...

There are probably people wanting him DEAD as of this moment.

But he doesn't want to go down alone. Oh no. So he pulls 'the other tardy guy' along.

Hmm? What this? Ah! My 'u-know-what'!!!

Good! We're on time ^_^
You're mine for lunch! Quite the popular guy isn't he? Well, this story DID come from a H-game. Of course there'll be girls swarming him, but doesn't she look more like she's threatening him instead?

Chez. She's only helping her sister...

But he isn't interested. Why not? Gay? Bingo!
No, I'm just kidding...

Anyway, let's go home together. Yeah!
Asking him equals asking me.

Damn! Too late.

But, really, using Tomoyo... He has it coming...

Please hurry it up... Stop it or I'll tell on you.

Ok ok. Cafe

But what's a H-game turned anime without this? A new competitor?

OMG! (she kinda looks sadistic here doesn't she?) Ugh...

You're going down with me. Hmm?

You're interested in my body? Seriously, who wouldn't be?
Beg me and maybe... I'll do it!

Huh?

WHAT?!?! He just can't win her.

Puhi!

Botan wants some of Ryou's cooking too? >.<

Really? So easy?
And to undo it, this is all you need to do.

Eh? Who left the door open? What?!?! The charm worked?!?!
ごめんあさい

Huh? No! We can't. But then again... You've got the wrong idea! It's because of the charm!

=.=|

Where in the world would you find such a pin-pointed charm?!?! Crap? No point...

Argh! Don't think anymore! Wait, you serious? HELL YEA!

But don't worry. O_O Let's do it!

=.=|
=.=|||
Just bring it!
O_O

Hey!
I don't find trouble, it normally finds me...
Don't worry, Fuko's here to help!

What? No one's affected? Can't I go home?

I wanna join in! Please!!! Enough of this comedy show!!!
Don't block me! Take this! Hey!

You again? No-... That's right. I started it.

3 things?

First of all, it seems that one of the OVAs of School Days, "School Days: Valentine Days OVA" is released by Eien no Anime. And since I'm so nice, here's the link. Fortunately, this OVA isn't bloody or anything. It's funny :)
And thanks to those who voted this time and last time round. I forgot to thank you for participating on my web, unlike the other buggers who just hang around spamming. However, I've gotta say, I wonder who's the 2 perverts who voted for Kotonoha and the 2 lolicons who voted for her sister... If it was Setsuna, I can understand, but Kokoro? Who's the lolicon here now?
Extra stuff I found somewhere...
PS2ソフト「School Days L×H」公式サイト

Second thing, I guess I'll try reviewing episodes again, but this time I'll put screenshots of the episode as suggested by you guys. Please give me your feedback on my review after I've done the review k? Thanks ;) (Due to the fact that pictures are cut off if I contiuned to use the old style, I've switched styles to show whole screenshots)

Third thing... I forgot what it is already, so forget it...

Edit: I remember now what the third thing was. JUS... Though I remembered what the thing was, I don't remember what I wanted to say about it... T_T

Extra: Uwaaa... browsing through a site for School Days, I found this!
Photobucket
A ?handphone? with Kotomi's(Clannad) picture on it! O_O

School Days

=_=
Call me a no-lifer but I'm suddenly interested in watching it again (minus the last few episodes, maybe). Thus, the new poll. Setsuna Kiyoura for me ^_^
The first OVA for School Days is currently in production, titled "School Days ~Magical Heart Kokoro-chan~", which is set to be released in Japan on March 26, 2008.
A second OVA has been annonuced, titled "Valentine Days".

From wikipedia.

Hmm... If so many of you guys want JUS reviews and stuff, I'm thinking of allowing those with blogger accounts to be able to post on this blog of my JUS stuff. Those interest put your name down in the commentssection of this post. NOT IN THE TAGBOARD. I will ignore those in the tagboard.

As for the critical remarks about my anime reviewing skills and comparing to the ones of DM, seriously, I've only just started and my skills aren't that good, so please be patient or ignore my reviews at worst. If you really cannot take my reviews, then get lost and go to DM's blog.

=.=*

First of all, leetness, don't spam so much and don't go around exposing others identity, there are those who don't cs here le. Second, 9989, go and die. Third, Zhi Feng, I thought you using the nick meltz? That was my secondary school class chalet, don't extra. Fourth, who's lol? Fifth, Dr. X, I thought your blog's "http://pubfire.blogspot.com/", changed? And School Days isn't hentai. Violent at the end, violently wrong, but not hentai.

I know I haven't posted in a while. Been busy due to assignments and such... Anyway, it's a new year and new animes are coming out. H2O - footprints in the sand & Rosario + Vampire. Both have their episode 2 subbed. Also, some more new animes are out. They are My Noble Masters episode 1 by Ayako, True Tears by Baka-Wolf & m.3.3.w and Spice and Wolf by Ayako again are some of the ones that caught my eye. They are My Noble Masters, to me, seems like a more mature Hayate, True Tears, I'm watching just for kicks and Spice and Wolf I haven't watched.

And, oh yea! Ryuusei no Rockman's first season has ended at episode 55 and now, it's on its second season, Ryuusei no Rockman Tribe. Up to episode 3's subbed. DDL for the whole of the series's available here by DATS. they have a forum too. Tribe's really cool, the game's out in Jap, unfortunately, no dates for a US version. Meh... No picture that does it justice...
